Except, I'm guessing that I will still receive, "The data is invalid" messages through the conventional install method. BTW, I am on Windows 7 x If anyone has any information or knows how to fix, "The data is invalid" - that would still be helpful.

It, too is getting the Data Invalid message. Some online research suggested this is a problem with Windows Permissions.

Someone who changed permissions directly by editing their registry file reported success. So I went to change the appropriate permissions in my registry related to my video card.

Windows wouldn't let me change them. My wife cracked that, despite being logged on as the administrator, I didn't have permission to change permission. She thought it was funny. I thought it was a typical Windows Catch 22 crapfest. So, out came the hammer. The same page on superuser dot com where I found the regedit information had a follow-up post suggesting I download a free program called Windows Repair from the tweaking dot com site. It had good reviews and walking through its repair sequence it appeared very thorough and made sure I covered all the necessary preparatory scans and other steps so it would run properly and so I didn't miss some obvious fixes and didn't wind up disabling the machine.
